Thanks for your interest in becoming an amateur radio operator or as we are known,"Ham"

The hobby and public service capabilities of "Ham" radio are so vast, I can not tell you about it all. After all... I haven't even scratched the surface myself.

Amateur or"Ham" Radio is an exciting and rewarding hobby.
With amateur radio, the world, and now beyond is at your finger tips.

Now you may ask, why amateur radio, after all, there is the internet, cell phones and texting.

Well glad you asked. Let's take a look.

Oh, by the way, did you know that "hams" were doing all those things and more, years before the public could.

"Hams" were and still are instrumental in developing those very items that we use today and will use tomorrow.

Today,"hams" talk, text and share pictures with satellites, the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station on a daily basis.

And while doing all that, hams save lives by providing emergency communications, before, during and after a disaster.

After most disasters, ham radio communications are the first in and out from the effected area. No need for electricity, wifi spots or cell towers.

Have you tried that on your cell phone or laptop?

Well, enough from me. To learn more about amateur radio, click the "We Do That" banner below.
